From Monmouth
- Take the B4293 from Monmouth to Trellech.
- Drive up the hill for approximately 2 miles and take a left turn signposted Penallt.
- Follow the road to Penallt village and at the crossroads turn left.
- The Inn at Penallt is about 0.3 miles on the right.
From Newport and Cardiff
- Take the A449 - A40 to Monmouth.
- Take the slip road on to the B4293 signposted Monmouth and Trellech.
- At the mini roundabout with the garage on your left take the left turn signposted Mitchel Troy.
- Take the Trellech turn on the left (still on the B4293) and after climbing the hill for approximately 2 miles take a left turn sign posted Penallt.
- Follow the road to Penallt village and at the crossroads turn left.
- The Inn at Penallt is about 0.3 miles on the right.
From Ross on Wye
- Take the A40 from Ross on Wye to Monmouth.
- Go beyond the Wye Bridge traffic lights and take the next left B4293 exit toward Monmouth and Rockfield.
- Turn left (B4293) and left again (still on the B4293) towards Trellech.
- After climbing the hill for approximately 2 miles take a left turn sign posted Penallt.
- Follow the road to Penallt village and at the crossroads turn left.
- The Inn at Penallt is about 0.3 miles on the right.
From Chepstow
- Take the 10 mile scenic route via Tintern through the Wye Valley to Monmouth on the A466.
- Turn left at the Wye Bridge traffic lights on to the A40 signposted Newport.
- Take the first left B4293 exit toward Monmouth and Rockfield. Turn left (B4293) and left again (still on the B4293) towards Trellech.
- After climbing the hill for approximately 2 miles take a left turn sign posted Penallt.
- Follow the road to Penallt village and at the crossroads turn left.
- The Inn at Penallt is about 0.3 miles on the right.
