The Inn at Penallt is a traditional village pub with bed and breakfast accommodation in the beautiful Wye Valley. Owners Andy and Jackie warmly welcome regular locals and guests staying for B & B to Penallt. The Inn has an excellent bar and restaurant and serve fresh locally sourced food, local real ale and a very warm welcome.
Please note that The Inn will be closed for refurbishment and staff holidays from 1st January - 26th January.
Located near Monmouth and the beautiful Wye Valley, the Inn has an excellent reputation for superb restaurant and pub food as well as a warm, friendly welcoming atmosphere. The Inn is recognised by the AA and is included in their good pub listings.
The Restaurant menu changes seasonally and serves delicious, freshly cooked, locally sourced food. Lighter meals can be taken in the bar or dishes can be chosen from the restaurant menu for those who prefer more informal dining. The Inn has an excellent wine list, a good range of local ales and ciders.
Bed and Breakfast Accommodation is available all year round and The Inn has four en-suite bed and breakfast rooms. Each bedroom is tastefully decorated and has a TV and DVD player; an ipod docking station; free Wi Fi internet access; iron and ironing board and fresh Fair Trade ground coffee and tea making facilities. A very recent visitor commented on Trip Advisor that The Inn at Penallt was “One of the best Bed & Breakfasts we've stayed in!”
A full Welsh breakfast is served in the restaurant and bar snacks and restaurant meals are available during the day and evening. Packed lunches for walkers and cyclists can be provided on request, and with sufficient notice our chef is happy to cater for special diets.
The Inn is the perfect bed and breakfast choice for walkers, horse riders and cyclists exploring the Wye Valley and we offer both weekend breaks as well as mid-week mini-breaks.
Dog friendly bed and breakfast accommodation is available and Jackie and Andrew warmly welcome dogs and their well behaved owners in the bar. The Inn has a large garden (the size of a small field) to exercise your dog.
Penallt is located between Monmouth and Chepstow close to Offa's Dyke Path, the Wye Valley Walk and the Three Castles Walk. The Inn makes an ideal holiday base for short breaks for walkers, amateur photographers, artists and cyclists who are keen to explore the southern section of the Wye Valley.
