The Inn at Penallt is located near to the Welsh border town of Monmouth overlooking the beautiful Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. The Inn is a traditional village pub offering bed and breakfast and has an excellent reputation for superb food and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Michelin Guide to Eating Out 2014 Three years after opening The Inn at Penallt has been listed in The Michelin Guide to Eating Out Great Britain and Ireland, ( Michelin's Red Book). The Inns’ Michelin listing follows on from the award of an AA Rosette and being named The AA pub of The Year for Wales 2012/13.
AA Rosette Award 2012 & 2013 In recognition of the high quality of food served in the bar and restaurant The Inn was awarded an AA rosette in both 2012 and 2013. This prestigious award is only given where food is prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients. Owners Jackie and Andrew and head chef Peter, are delighted that their shared passion for providing top quality restaurant and bar food using carefully selected and sustainable local produce has received this recognition.
AA Pub of the Year Wales 2012-2013 The Inn at Penallt was announced as The AA Pub of the Year (Wales) 2012-2013. This prestigious award is given to pubs which stand out as truly excellent all-round pubs or inns. When selecting the winner for this fabulous award the judges are looking for a pub or inn where there is a successful combination of enjoyable food, a great pub atmosphere and a warm welcome with a high standard of management.
Bed and Breakfast
B&B accommodation is available all year round at the Inn. Although small the four en-suite rooms are cosy and tastefully and comfortably decorated with flat screen digital TV/DVD, an ipod docking station, free Wi Fi, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities, complementary waters and home made welsh cakes. Guests also have full use of the conservatory and bar area throughout their stay.
Food in the restaurant and bar
Guests can enjoy a full Welsh breakfast or something lighter. Delicious freshly made bar snacks and restaurant meals are available during the day and evening. Please see opening times for details. Walkers and cyclists can be provided with a packed lunch on request. Guests requiring vegetarian, gluten or dairy free meals can normally be accommodated from the main menu, with a little notice The Inn's chefs can accommodate most other dietary requirements

Dogs are welcome to stay
Jackie and Andrew warmly welcome dogs and their well behaved owners in the bar. The Inn has a large garden (the size of a small field) to exercise your dog.
The Village of Penallt is located between Monmouth and Chepstow and is close to Offa's Dyke Path Walk, the Wye Valley Walk and the Three Castles Walk. The Inn makes an ideal holiday base for short breaks for walkers, amateur photographers, artists and cyclists who are keen to explore the southern section of the Wye Valley.
